Beaumont Affordable Housing

When the Leduc Foundation, which operates a seniors’ lodge in Beaumont, decided to develop a significant portion of underutilized property adjacent to the centre, they made it their mission to make the most of the space by providing good quality housing at a reasonable cost.
Economy was the watchword on this project—but never at the expense of cutting corners. This was about respect for economic considerations over the long term, with an eye toward ongoing maintenance and cost control. That’s what led to design choices such as triple-glazed windows and high quality insulation in exterior walls and the attic space. This project had to be delivered at the right price, and it had to continue to deliver dependable value well into the future.

When the building was completed in the fall of 2010, it was on time and under budget—both very important considerations for this client. It was fully occupied within two months of opening.
