Duncan Binder

Duncan Binder is the Chief Project and Operations Manager of Binder Construction. For the past 15 years Duncan and his brother Colin have owned and operated Binder Construction by developing a proven ability to create, develop, and motivate highly efficient construction teams. Duncan has an additional 15 years of experience in the construction industry as both a Project Coordinator as well as a carpenter. Duncan received his Journeyman Carpenter Certification with Interprovincial Red Seal from NAIT in 1988.
Duncan’s day to day responsibilities include construction administration, team building and leadership, safety management, along with task scheduling and workflow planning. Duncan is also responsible for building codes and permits, project budgeting materials management, trade relations, safety and compliance and project life cycle management.

As a LEED Green Associate Duncan Binder has the knowledge to contribute to the design, and construction of buildings that save energy, use fewer resources, reduce pollution, and contribute to healthier environments for their occupants and the community. He also serves as the Director of the Merit Contractors Association. In addition Duncan served as the President of the Edmonton Construction Association in 2006.

Duncan has been married for 20 years, and has 2 sons. His hobbies include curling, golfing, traveling and cooking. He enjoys weekends at his cabin at Island Lake with family and friends.

Colin Binder

Colin Binder is the Chief Estimator and oversees Construction Management at Binder Construction. Since 1996 when Colin and his brother Duncan took over ownership of Binder Construction, Colin has worked hard to maximize profitability through skilled contract negotiation and project estimation. He is dedicated to ensuring the highest level of construction quality, by maintaining full adherence to all deadlines and specifications.
Colin provides leadership in the areas of construction administration, blueprint reading/analysis, strategic planning, and layout design and development. In addition he is responsible for task scheduling and workflow planning, building codes and permits, project budgeting, materials management, trade relations, safety and compliance, and cost evaluations.

In 1993 Colin received his Construction Administration Diploma from the University of Alberta. He also has his Journeyman Carpenter Certification with Interprovincial Red Seal which he received from NAIT in 1990.

Colin has 3 daughters and 3 dogs. He enjoys acreage living and also loves woodworking, billiards, water sports, quading, traveling, and motorcycles.
